Kiva fireplace
Kive fireplace: A Kiva is a southwestern style bee-hive looking foreplace. This small fireplace will provide great ambiance to the Arizona room area. It is plumbed for propane so that we can burn wood, or we can alternately use a propane log set if we prefer it. This Kiva has beautiful irridescent tile inlaid into the stucco around the opening, as is quite popular in the southwest.

We began with an old stove shell on top of the foundation...

Propane pipe plumbing and valve...

We free form concrete, cans and rubble from the property around the stove...

We continue up the flue pipe...

Plastering over the exposed cans...

Fireplace is complete, with the access hole providing flue control...

We then put irridescent aqua tile around the opening and across top of the fireplace...

Kiva fireplace in stucco...

6" flue pipe as it exits through the roof, flashed to be waterproof...

Fireplace painted to match the house...
