Foundation wrap
Foundation wrap: The foundation wrap consists of one layer of rigid insulation sandwiched between two layers of 6 mil black plastic. It is between 10 feet and 16 feet wide around the entire house. This protects and insulates the vast thermal mass of the dirt around the house so that we can store sun energy throughout the year.

Leveling the perimeter around the house...

Hooking up the black water and gray water lines...

Electrical conduit, wellwater and rainwater piping in place...

Laying out the foundation wrap on the north side...

One layer of plastic layed out and the insulation layer beginning to go down...

The complete 16' wide insulation layer to the south of the house...

The top layer of plastic is then layed out on top of the insulation...

We then backfill with 12 to 16 inches of dirt...

A nice smoothe fiinal grade with a gradual angle away from the house....
